​Company founded by SITQ and Fabricom under its initial name, Alizé Gestion techniques d’immeubles inc., to manage six large SITQ buildings in Montreal

1993 
​Takeover of SITQ buildi​​ngs in the Quebec City area

1994   
Launch of two new services: Energy Management and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). These services would become the groundwork for OPTIMIZ, a distinctive company brand​

1995   
First energy performance contracts with guaranteed results

1998   
Company operations expanded to include technical management of new buildings, representing about five million square feet

2000   
​Trouble-free Y2K transition in all buildings under management, through meticulous 
pre-checks of all technical systems

2002 

The company posts strong growth and is now responsible for a building stock of more than 20 million square feet

2005   
Alizé becomes AXIMA Services and extends its business to operation and maintenance of automated baggage handling systems, with its first contract at Montreal’s 
Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport

AXIMA wins its first Energia award for optimized operations at 1000 de La Gauchetière in Montreal

2007 ​

​AXIMA launches operations in United States at the Louisville​ Kentucky Airport

Signing of a 20-year public-private partnership agreement for financing, operation and maintenance of the baggage handling system at Montreal’s Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport

AXIMA celebrates its 15th anniversary

2008   
A second Energia award for optimizing operation of the Centre CDP Capital in Montreal

Second major contract signed in the United States, with Boston’s Logan International Airport

2009   
Following consolidation of all service companies within GDF SUEZ, the European leader in multitechnical services, AXIMA Services becomes Cofely Services. The name Cofely emerged from amalgamation of Cofathec and Elyo, the conglomerate’s two largest energy services companies.

Cofely takes on responsibili​ty for operation and maintenance of the automated baggage handling system at Quebec City’s Jean-Lesage International Airport

2010   
Cofely’s third Energia award (Recommissioning category) for a project in one of Canada’s largest shopping centres

Regional office opens in Toronto​​​​​​

Company operations now include facility management contracts in Canada and the United States

2011   
Cofely wins BOMA Canada’s prestigious Pinnacle Award for quality of services delivered



Registration of the OptimiZ brand, which becomes the symbol of the company’s business model


Cofely lands a major contract for technical management of a critical data centre in Montreal



2012 

Acquisition of ADELT Mechanical Works in Toronto (specializing in mechanical systems construction and maintenance)

Launch of UDROP, the first automated self-serve baggage drop service in North America, in partnership with WestJet and Montreal’s Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport.



Cofely proudly celebrates its 20th anniversary in North America





Cofely Services now serves all of eastern Canada and the eastern United States, including a wide range of contracts in the commercial and public buildings sector, airports, data centres and manufacturing industries.
